Remove metadata from photos and documents

Strip GPS location, camera serial numbers and author names from JPG, PNG, WebP, PDF, DOCX, XLSX and PPTX. Photos are not re-compressed.

How it works

  1. We list what the file reveals before removing it, with personal fields marked.
  2. Photos are cleaned at the byte level: metadata blocks are dropped and pixels are copied untouched. Orientation is kept so pictures don’t turn sideways.
  3. Office files lose author, company and reviewer names; PDFs lose their info dictionary and XMP metadata.

Questions

Does it reduce photo quality?

No. The image data is copied byte for byte, so the cleaned photo is pixel-identical.

Do messengers strip metadata anyway?

Some do, many don’t: email, cloud links, forums and “send as file” keep it.
