Convert WebP to PNG

Turn WebP images into PNG right in your browser. Batch conversion, adjustable quality, metadata removed by default, and no file ever leaves your device.

Convert to

WebP

WebP is the format websites use to load images faster. Images you save from a browser often turn out to be WebP.

Older editors, print shops and some forms don’t open WebP, while every program understands JPG and PNG.

PNG

PNG is lossless and supports transparency, so it is used for screenshots, logos and graphics with sharp edges.

For photos PNG files are several times larger than JPG, which matters when a form or a message has a size limit.

How it works

  1. Your WebP files are decoded by the browser on this device and saved as PNG. Photos keep their orientation.
  2. Drop many files at once and download them one by one or as a ZIP.
  3. Metadata such as GPS location is removed by default; switch it off to keep EXIF in JPG files.

Questions

Are my files uploaded?

No. Conversion happens in your browser; nothing is sent to a server.

Which licence do the codecs use?

The AVIF and WebP encoders are Apache-2.0 builds of libavif and libwebp. The HEIC decoder is libheif (LGPL-3.0), loaded as a separate file rather than built into our code.
